Join our amazing team of local Homestays and host 2 Japanese Students for 2 nights this July whilst they attend a cultural and educational program across Sydney.
Unique Australian Holidays Pty Ltd (UAH) has welcomed Japanese Students to Australia since 1986, enriching the lives of both Students and Homestays.
Students participate in short-term educational programs and sightseeing tours, whilst being hosted by local families for an immersive cross-cultural experience.

Program Details

Students require collection from Collaroy on Friday afternoon, then returned to their farewell celebration in Frenchs Forest on the Sunday afternoon.
It is a requirement that all Homestays live within the Northern Beaches.

Start: 4pm Friday 26th July
Finish: 6pm Sunday 28th JulyA total of 2 nights

$320 total for 2 Students
Funds are transferred to Homestays once Students have been collected on the Friday afternoon.

Furnished bedroom/s with individual proper beds are required to ensure a comfortable stay for Students.
Example: Either 1 bedroom with 2 beds, or 2 bedrooms with 1 bed in each room.
Under no circumstances is bed sharing permitted, mattresses on the floor or sharing a bedroom with any family members.

Homestays are to drive their Students to/from meeting locations:
FRI: 4pm at Collaroy
SAT: 4pm* at Frenchs Forest*Farewell celebration attendance is compulsory 4pm-6pm.
Exact locations will be provided once you are registered and have been allocated Students.

Yes. It is 100% compulsory for Homestays to attend this event. This is a sit-down dinner with Japanese games and cultural performances, which is complimentary for a maximum 2 members per Homestay.

30 Japanese High School Co-Ed Students aged 14-15 years old, travelling on a cultural and educational experience program from Japan.
UAH has a very long history delivering Homestay programs to this School.
Once registered you’ll be suitably matched with a pair of Students, at which time you’ll receive their full details.

It’s important to note that according to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), Homestay payment is considered compensation and is not included in your annual income. This means you can enjoy the benefits of hosting without impacting your tax obligations.

What do I need to provide?
Accommodation in private, furnished bedroom/s
Proper beds for each Student - no floor mattresses, fold-outs, or bed-sharing.
Daily meals including breakfast, lunch and dinner
Inclusion in family activities and local outings
Attendance at the farewell celebration 4pm-6pm Sunday 28th July

Providing information about your household and family members is required to suitably match Students with you.
Book your Home Visit
A chance for us to meet you, verify the Student accommodation, run through our program and answer any questions you may have.
Link your NSW Working With Children Check
If you don't already hold a current WWCC through NSW Working with Children Check, we can assist you in obtaining one. Homestay falls under a Volunteer capacity, it’s free and is valid for 5 years.
