Hello
Sydney!
Join our amazing team of local Homestays hosting Japanese University Students for 20 nights this March.
Welcome
to UAH
Since 1986, UAH has been a respected leader in facilitating authentic cultural exchanges between international Students and Australian Homestays.
We specialise in designing and delivering short-term educational and cultural programs that create meaningful connections, enriching the lives of Students and Homestays alike.
Each year, we continue our partnerships with High Schools and Universities across Asia and alongside State Departments of International Education to facilitate immersive programs lasting from 2 to 20 nights. While visiting Australia, Students participate in sightseeing tours and educational activities — yet it is the time spent with their Homestay that becomes the heart of their journey. Whether sharing meals, conversations, or weekend outings, these moments build lasting cross-cultural bonds.
Our dedicated team supports Homestays and Students across a vast geographical landscape — from Far North Queensland down through New South Wales, ACT, Victoria, South Australia, and Tasmania — covering both metropolitan centres and regional communities.

-
An Australian Cultural Experience
The focus of their time with you is to experience your family home culture and explore Sydney. Include them in your afternoon/weekend activities, in addition to planning some local, budget friendly outings. Invite them into your family and share meals, walks, discussions about life; it’s a human connection experience for all parties involved.
Some suggestions include: visiting Manly/Northern Beaches/Bondi, ferry into the CBD, shopping precincts, spectating family weekend sporting matches, shared cooking experiences at home, family barbecues and game nights.
Please remember that should you choose to go out for a meal that costs are to be covered by the Homestay payment, not the Students. Should Students wish to purchase souvenirs or visit attractions such as the Zoo, this will be covered by the Students, not the Homestays.

"We hosted our first Student through UAH last year, and it was one of the most eye-opening experiences for our kids. They learned how to communicate beyond language, became curious about life in Japan, and genuinely enjoyed showing off their favourite Aussie routines. It brought something really special into our home — not just for the Student, but for our whole family."

"Hosting with UAH has been such a rewarding surprise. It fits so naturally into our routine — sharing meals, chatting about life in Australia, or showing off our favourite local spots. Every Student brings a fresh perspective and it’s honestly a great way to stay curious and connected. We’ve loved being part of something bigger, right from our own home."

“Since becoming a UAH Homestay a few years ago, I’ve had the pleasure of welcoming over 20 Students from Japan. UAH provided all the support I needed to begin my Homestay journey…they truly value their Homestays and create a sense of community. I’ve met other Homestays in my area and we’ve exchanged tips and stories. Being a Homestay has rekindled my love for exploring Brisbane - seeing the region with fresh eyes and a deeper appreciation. It’s been a truly enriching experience. I high recommend UAH to anyone considering hosting Japanese Students!”
